Q: can anyone give me tips on how to lauch? I dumped the clutch at 3k but the car just bogged down and i dont want to try 5 or 6k because of possible damage. I usually just let the clutch slip and get a good roll but ive seen a lot of vids where they launch off like mad crazy. thanks!
A: First of all...you never DUMP the clutch on a launch. Especially AWD. Try holding the rpms at about 5k and slipping the clutch. If you still have a stock clutch, it is going to hate you, and will be toast in no time. Also, I hope all of your maintenance is up to spec before you go and try launching the car. Oh..and expect to break things. transfer case, rear diff, axles, tranny, etc. They aren't made to be beat on like this.
