A: I have a turbo eclipse and spray my motor all the time, you just need to be careful of electrical parts. Just think about it, what happens to your car every time you drive in the rain? An engine was designed to withstand certain amounts of water, it's really not that big a deal. Unless he freaking pulled the spark plugs and sprayed the damn hose directly into the cylinder or something? What sounds like is he got the MAS wet, or some water in the intake pipe. What will happen if the Mass Air Sensor gets wet, it will misread air temp. and idle like shit. In extreme cases, you might have to replace the Mass Air Sensor. I think all the sensors you are referring to are emissions sensors and such. The MAS is in line with the intake pipe. Start by pulling the intake pipe off and dry out the Mass Air Sensor, and make sure the pipe is dry all the way up. Water can stay up in there for quite some time. There is a complete section dedicated to the non-turbo eclipse/talon/laser. Just use the search box and key word poor idle, or whatever you can use to help you out.
