Q: sorry about my english but i really need help with this one i own a 99 eclipse gs when i shift into 3rd or 5th gear i take the cluth out push the gas and the gear gets back on neutral i need to know whats wrong if its the cluth or thetranssmission THANKS 4 DA HELP!!
A: im gonna disagree^ it sounds to me like your describing a pop out. you put it in gear and it pops back out. that is usually transmission related, not clutch, unless your clutch is toast but you would be able to tell if your clutch was gone i hope. first i would check your clutch fluid and bleed the sytem. if that doesnt help you can check to see if it is the clutch... get it goin in like second gear and then go directly to fifth gear and floor it. the rpms should be really low, when you floor it it should not slip. if it does slip (rpms go up but the speed doesnt) then the clutch is bad. if it doesnt slip id start lookin for a trans.
