Q: without removing or converting the r12 freon in system? would thier be any damage if I left the R12 in the system and just installed the 134 freon exclusively ? thks

A: Don't mix the two. If you want to keep it R12 you will have to have a mechanic fill it, because it's not sold to people who don't have a license to work on a/c. But if you convert it there are a lot of things you have to change because the R12 is a bigger molecule then the R134 so if you put R134 in a system that had R12 and was leaking it, it will just leak the R134 out in about 5 minutes. It's a lot of work to convert it and has to be done by a professional. Sorry I had to do it to my car and I've been working on cars for 20 years.
