Q: There is a local car dealership around my area and they have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. It has 149,000 miles on it and the bumper and hood is damaged a bit. It does have after market rims and steering wheel. Without even checking kelly blue book, i know that 2,900 is over priced. I'm going to try to make a deal with them though... what price should i say I'd buy it for? Also, if i end up getting it, what parts need replaced on a high mileage eclipse (2nd gen)? also, its my first car...and i would like it to be a project to work on the engine as i like doing that kinda of stuff

A: My '97 GS had 180,000 when I bought it, a month afterwards the motor blew but that was because the kid who had it before me thought it was a race car. I replaced the motor and a few misc. little things, and now it runs great. If I were you I would see maybe if Carfax might have information on the vehicle you are looking at.
