1998 Mitubishi Montero Sport?

Q: My sister's got a montero sport and I need to change the alternator tomorrow. Is there anything special I need to know? Is this a typical job. Are their any good sites where I can get an overview on the engine configuration so I am somewhat familiar with it before I go out of town to do this? Give me something good or at least decent and I'll give you the best answer. First wins!

A: You will need a 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 17mm wrench and a good pry bar. Make sure that it really needs an alternator, many times I've seen the main 60amp or 100amp fuses/fusible links blown from someone jumping the battery backwards. They are located either on the battery positive cable end or in the engine compartment main fuse box. They are bolted into the fusebox terminals, so don't just try to pull them out. I believe the bolts have an 8mm or 10mm head size.
