Q: I want to find a more powerful engine to put in my eclipse. I currently only have about 140 HP. I looked at getting a supra engine, but I need a front wheel drive engine. Any Comments are welcome.
A: Well if you're looking to do that then you might as well but a different cars our DSM's aren't really reliable to much.... I've never heard of anyone putting in a 2jz to replace the 4g63 so might as well get a 50 trim for it (turbo) or the big 16g(turbo) should be up to 300 easily.... Don't swap the whole engine just turbo probably cost you 3-5grand doin it that way cuz from the sounds of it I don't think you'd be able to perform a swap and to buy the engine and have someone fab up mounts get a whole new tranny and install everything your looking at quite a lot of money....
