Q: think i might be on my way to a completely blown head gasket,my coolent light was on so put water in the resavoir then popped the radiator cap off and started putting watter in it then started the engine i was sitting there waiting for the themostate to open and it isnt the waters just coming up and filling the over flow bottle so i think the thermostate is stuck closed, but thats not all heres why i think the head gaskets bout to blow when the water was just filling into the over flow bottle it was all white foam so what do u guys think? compression test tomarrow,but if the t. stat was working right it should be swerling around right? not go straight to the o.f bottle. and if the t state was stuck would that keep the idle high?actually i dont think a stuck t sate would cause a 2.7k idle but i probubly have a few problems going on. i have all my throttle points set to -2 high and low with denzo 550cc injectors, so i should be running rich but i dont smell gas,datalogger coming soon but i think thats the least of my worrys now. compressoin test was great 160 across 164 is new and 121 is service,the t. stat is opening now. i think the sensors on the t body are not working giving the high idle or a major boost leak. have another car so parkin the talon gettin a logger and takin it to a shop for diagnostic then fix myself then back to shop for a tune.

A: Did u fill water when engine was very hot? to ensure gasket blown out,u pls switch off your engine. top up coolant/water and leave the radiator cap open, Now crank start your engine. If the water shoots up from the radiator,Is confirmed Head gasket blown off. If the cylinder Head is bent or cracked,you can only make out after compression test. If your car is auto,the foams could be from ATF which is being cooled through the radiator.ensure that there is not internal leak from radiator please. Check whether ATF contaminated or lost. Pls check all possibilities.
