Q: i have a 1998 mercury mystique my car is miss firing i think that is the word that you use i'm having problems and i want to know what it might be i know it isn't my transmission because i had it checked it doesn't run bad on a regular basis it just misfires every now and then it doesn't run hot or anything
A: It is not the ignition module. They don't get worse over time. It is SNAP! and you can't start your car. A rough running car could be bad spark plug wires, the plugs themselves, the fuel injection (injectors, etc.) Either way, I'd take it to a good mechanic. Stay away from dealerships. They are ALWAYS the highest.
