A: The engine is reliable but have had intake runner issues. Automatic transmissions most likely will fail before the 100,000 mile mark (manual trans have no problems). Parts (like trim pieces) are starting to be discontinued. Most all of the mechanical parts will interchange with the Contour/Mystique so they will be around for a while. Alternators like to quit working in these cars, too for some reason. I would not recommend buying one (but that's just me).
