A: I hate to give you this news, but it is time for a rebuild. These cars are known for this. These cars are what mechanics call throw away cars. You get about 125,000 miles on them and the transmission starts slipping or valves stick inside of tranny. Very expensive to just take out and put in. Rebuild does not cost that much. I paid $1500 just to have a tranny taken out of my countour and have a used on put back in. Used tranny cost me $250.
