Q: I have a 99 Mercury Cougar & everytime the weather gets cold (around 32 or lower) my car will not stay running with out having your foot on the gas. When I hit the breaks the car will barley stop, you can feel like there is no power in the breaks & the petal will not go all the way to the floor. We have replaced the Throttle, mass Air Flow, The Alternator is brand new along with the battery & we still can not get it to run right. It is a V6 engine. This has happened every winter for the last 3 or 4 years. But once the weather gets nice out the car runs great agian? If anyone might now what this is can they please help me out?? Thanks!

A: I agree with Soap. Its a very regular problem on that car---any good shop should be able to diagnose that if theyre used to Cougar's. If you think thats not the issue you can ask some people over at www.newcougar.org. They tend to know much more about fixing that car than any garage or dealership.
