Q: I need to know what the firing order is in my Grand Marquis because I have to replace damaged spark plug wired and I cannot remember the Firing Order is. It is a 4.6L V8 SOHC

A: The engine firing order for this engine is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. The cylinders are numbered as follows: The passenger side bank of cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 beginning from the front engine. The driver side bank of cylinders are numbered 5-6-7-8 beginning from the front of the engine. Your car uses two coilpacks, which are numbered, corresponding to the cylinder numbers serviced by each terminal. The coilpack on the passenger side bank services cylinder numbers 1, 3, 6 & 5. The coilpack on the driver side bank services cylinder numbers 7, 8, 4 & 2. Hope this helps.
