A: Why is a 2005 having transmission problems? It should still be under the manufacturer's warranty - unless it's already over the standard 3 years/36,000miles. You should contact your dealer to find out if it's still under the original warranty - if not, is it under an extended warranty? Find out if there were any recalls on the transmission - this may allow for them to fix it at their cost. If you're not able to get a solution from either of those things, look into putting a "new-used transmission" into the car. This can cost you about $1000 to $2000 but then you can sell it. Or find someone who's willing to buy it as is.
