Q: The "plug" was lying in the pan and doesn't seem to belong anywhere else...we asked several people about it and noone seems to know what it is. Can anyone help me????

A: This is a small yellow plug with an oring on it. This is used to plug the hole that the dipstick tube goes in . Ford prefills their transmissions with fluid this plug is pushed into the hole when the transmission is installed at the factory or when a Ford reman is installed. It's only purpose is to hold the fluid in . You can throw it away.
