Q: Fan motor comes on, but wont stay on. Seems like its going out soon, or wiring in the motor gone bad. Where can i find this part cheapest??
A: If I read your question correctly, then you are looking for the blower motor fan, correct? First, I would check that the fuse is properly seated. Then, if you need a replacement, you may be able to find one at a local junkyard. Call ahead and ask if they have any Mercedes W123 bodystyle on their lot. A gasoline car will have the same fan as long as it is a W123 body. Mercedes made the W123 from 1978-1985. They made different blower motors, however. So, before going to a junk yard, take out your blower motor (under the dash, behind the glovebox) so you can compare. If all else fails, you may need to buy a new one. Try www.car-part.com They have a few blower motors that would match, and I bet a few places would be willing to ship one to you. Probably about $50.
