Q: 2000 and below and above models, mercedes benz ml question, is it really true that this car really has a lot of bugs in the system, electronically and it is not a very reliable car, please advice before i make a mistake of buying a 2000 ML430, because there are a lot on the net that is about the car and its problems. pls advice. thanks.
A: I personally would not recommend purchasing that year model because in my OPINION, cheap materials are used on the vehicle. Most common areas cosmetically will be the interior A-pillars panels material will be separating, center console compartment cover will be billowing the exterior D-pillar black panels will be cracked to name a few. Mechanically, one of the power steering hoses is faulty so it has a 10 year warranty on it, window switches go bad and high probability of electrical issues with stop lamp switch & crank position sensor. If you make the purchase, I strongly recommend a good extended warranty contract because you are vulnerable to a lot of repairs needed due to the age of the vehicle. It is a Mercedes-Benz, which is a high line vehicle, which means high cost repairs. The newer model style ML would be a better purchase because they improved the quality and it is less problematic.
