Q: I really like this car a lot and was wondering if its a pretty reliable/quick car (turbo model). Are there any common problems to be aware of about this car?

A: Ask yourself this: how comfortable are you at being your own mechanic? Not many shops have the expertise and capabilities to care for a rotary properly, in addition to being honest about it. What you get out of a rotary engine depends on what you put into it. If you let it warm up for 10-15 minutes on every cold start and redline it once a week, it will last forever. They use oil by design, roughly 1 quart every 3000 miles (depends on throttle position, more gas uses more oil) With meticulous care, 400,000 miles without a rebuild can be achieved on a N/A 13B engine because there are only 3 moving parts inside the engine. If you want a get in and go car, a RX7 is not for you. If you're not familiar with maintaining a rotary engine, you should look it up on wikipedia and then head over to www.rx7club.com to read the FAQs.
