Q: I have a 2003 Navigator. When I pull a trailer (only when I pull) my a/c vents shut off and the defroster kicks in. I die of heat!!!!! I need air on my face!! It always happens when I pull my rig and as soon as I hit 40miles an hour then the a/c vents shut off ! ! ! ! HELP! ! !

A: It is definitely a vacuum problem. When the engine is under a load the pressure differential is causing your A/C controls to malfunction. There is a slight possibility there is a fault in the electronic control, but I doubt that. Have the vacuum hoses all replaced, it's about time anyway. Make sure all the vacuum motors and dashpots are holding air/vacuum, too. Sometimes it's a bad membrane in one of those causing the leak.Good luck.
