what is a british equivlant of the Lincoln town car?

Q:

A: Functionally, the Town Car is the priciest iteration of the Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Marquis platform. From that standpoint, the Jaguar X-Type Sovereign, apparently still being produced in Merrie Olde England, would be the answer. The X-Type is based on the mechanical bits of a British Ford Mondeo (once known to American car buyers as the Ford Contour). Jag's XJ-8 is far more expensive than the Town Car, as are its German competitors.
