I have a 93' Lincoln Towncar, engine keeps dieing but the lights inside and outside work. What's wrong with it?

Q: All the lights stay on but the engine just gives out...it starts back up and will drive...but as soon as I push on the pedal it starts to jerk and continues to do so even if I just push on it a little...and then it'll die...if I push hard on the pedal, the car will die.Also...I turned on my car thinking I should see if I need to warm it up a little...but the engine died...and I didn't even put it in drive.Again...the battery is fine...everything electrical works...NEED HELP PLEASE!!! Ok...now I started my car this morning and it was still jerking a little bit...but it never died...and then I went and drove it around a little an hour later...and it's running just like it did before...I don't know what that means... It's not jerking or dieing or anything...hmm...

A: to me you do not have a electrical problem, you problem is fuel. to me it sounds like either you have a partially clogged fuel filter. there is one on that car between the tank, and the engine. for 10.00 change it. the second item, you may want to check is a defective gas cap. if the cap is not maintaining the proper pressure in the tank, you will not have enough assistance, by air in the tank to push the gas through the system. if you are not proper fuel supply to the engine, all eight cyclindres are going to malfunction.good luck
