Q: the fluid dripping is clear, maybe a bit yellowish, its coming from the middle of the jeep, it dries up pretty quick. the drip started after i put my jeep in the ditch, but there wasn't any sounds like something got broken or punctured, i know i should go to a mechanic but its my parents jeep and they dont know about the ditch incident. thanks the fluid dripping is clear, maybe a bit yellowish, its coming from the middle of the jeep, it dries up pretty quick. the drip started after i put my jeep in the ditch, but there wasn't any sounds like something got broken or punctured, i know i should go to a mechanic but its my parents jeep and they dont know about the ditch incident. thanks oh by the way its an automatic there was water in the ditch but its been dripping for about 2 days now, the liquid doesnt smell like anything, It seems a bit less viscous then water(meaning more slippery) thanks by the way for all the help... oh and i decided to take a look at it earlier and it seems the fluid is running down a metal frame running under the passenger side(dont know how to explain it better then that) the only difference now while im driving it is that everything seems a bit more sensible, i dont have to press on the gas really hard and the steering is pretty tight last update for this question... I popped the out open earlier to check it out and see if anything was wrong there and I saw that the liquid was comming out of metal vavle, does anyone know what this can be?

A: **UPDATE** If its running down the passenger side, you can rule out the power steering lines/box/pump (they are on the drivers side). When you say passenger side, do you mean up front by the front wheel? It is likely to be one of two things: A) Brake Fluid (you could have ripped the brake line for the front passenger side wheel...this needs to be fixed ASAP and the car should not be driven until it is) B) Coolant from the Air Conditioner. The A/C lines and equipment are all located on the passenger side. Some of the lines that carry the coolant can drop fairly low in the engine bay... Its possible you snagged one. Normally I would lean toward brake fluid since that is a more common breakage...but brake fluid does not dry up very quick. A/C refrigerant DOES. See if you can trace the drip up as far as possible and see where it begins. ********End Update****** When you say the middle of the jeep, do you mean the middle of the engine compartment, or the middle of the passenger compartment? Does the fluid have a smell, or feel slippery at all? Was their water in the ditch? If its the middle of the engine compartment (the part under the hood) the fluid could be a number of things: - Engine Coolant - Air Conditioner Freon - Water from condensation from running the A/C (this is normal) - Power steering fluid - Brake fluid - Gas If its coming from the middle of the passenger compartment: - Gas - Transmission fluid - Gas - Brake fluid - Gas (seeing a trend here?) - Water leaking out of your transmission (not normal..if you put the jeep in a ditch with water in it...very possible...and VERY expensive to fix) - Gas Get back to us with some smell descriptions....I need to know what the fluid smells like and if it feels slippery!
