Q: ok, i have an 89 jeep cherokee. i had to replace the engine in it because of a bad rod. and now i can't figure out how to get the torque converter lined back up. i have already unbolted it off of the engine. i have had a couple of my buddies even come over to try and help, and none of them can figure it out. but since none of us have ever done this sort of thing to a JEEP then we're thinkin that maybe it's a jeep thing. if anybody knows a secret or an easier way to do this, plz let me know. all i know is this won't even go onto the first splines for some reason!

A: Are you trying to line up the converter with the bolt holes on the flywheel or are you trying to get it to slip back in place into the transmission? If it's the flywheel not lining up, you just need to take your time and slowly turn it until you see the holes line up. Are you under the Jeep with the tranny on a jack? Maybe you have it to high or to low where they won't line up. Or is it not going into the tranny? If that is it, you need to just spin it slow and put a little pressure on it. Eventually the splines will line up and it will go into place. It is just a matter of taking your time and double checking as you go along with what you are trying to do. I wish you the best of luck with it.
