Q: Well short and simple is that I have this whistling noise coming from my jeep (not sure where, engine or wheels) that is really high pitched. I know the squeaking sound my brakes make sometimes when I'm driving and this is higher pitched than that. My brake pads are good. It only does it while I'm driving and the wheels are moving. Stepping on the brakes sometimes slows it down or stops it but sometimes it doesn't do anything and it won't go away until I completely stop. Does anyone know what it might be. It's not really doing any damage I don't think but it is extremely annoying and it sucks.

A: Sometimes alternators will whistle. It shouldn't hurt anything. If you are still unsure, go to a shop and have the alternator checked out.
