Q: It has 150,000 miles, needs 4 new tires, new transmission gaskets and oil gaskets, clean history otherwise. Also has cd player, A/C, etc.

A: I'd say it's too much. Since it's the Limited, I'm going to assume it has a V8. If it's the V8 (5.2 or 5.9), I wouldn't get it unless you can knock a good amount off the price. You're already going to spend money on the things listed above, and a V8 engine with 150,000 miles can bring some trouble. But it all depends on how the previous owner treated it (last year I bought a 96 GC with the 5.2 V8 and 146,000 miles, no problems at all). However, if it has the I6 4.0 engine (which I doubt), these engines require less maintenance, and have the potential to last 300,000+ miles. With the problems listed above, the labor cost to fix them will be expensive. If you still want the Jeep, use those labor costs as leverage to get the price cheaper... That's how I got $400 knocked off my Jeep! You should be able to take off at least $600 just for the gaskets/seals. Tires should be even more. Hope it helps!
