Q: the new brake line will not thread into the fitting in the rear of my jeep. it seems just a hair to big. i went to the parts store, they said there is nothing else close and that should work. are my threads wrong or maybe just messed up. help.
A: I had a similar problem on the front axle of my '90 ranger. It turned out that the flare on the end of the brake line was wrong. I had a bubble flare and it needed to be a double flare. The bubble flare looks like a bubble on the end of the line while the double flare is flatter. If you still have your old line compare the ends to be sure they are the same.
