Q: For about 3 weeks my 4x4 was making a loud humming/whirring/almost whistling noise. The faster i went, the louder it got and the higher the sound pitch. Finally I realized it is the axle differential and it needs to be replaced. Has anyone else had the same problem? With the same noise and/or same parts replaced? Not really a question that needs an answer, im just curious to hear from somebody who had the same problem and their story about it.
A: i had a 02 wrangler where the rear pinion seal went out and it made a metal rubbing sound when i drove it but never broke down
