A: If you want a Jeep that badly, the Jeep Cherokee, which was only made until about the year 2000-2001, is very reliable. It may have less bells and whistles, but they aren't as prone to the Grand Cherokee's popular flaws. If you have 5 thousand to spend, you could invest in a 1999 or 2000 Cherokee if this is specifically the brand you are looking for. I have a basic Cherokee and I love it. They tend to have long lives and their engines are extremely durable. If your heart's just set on a Grand Cherokee, just make sure to do your homework on the vehicle first, and if it'd make you feel better, have a mechanic look at it before purchasing the vehicle. I have met many Jeep Grand owners that love them, but as with about any other vehicle it does have flaws.
