Q: My jeep trys to start for 3 seconds or so, then dies. someone told me i probably activated the security system on it, and i'll have to take it to a dealer and have it fixed? i hope not.....i would like to know DO they have a security system?? thanks for helping........
A: it would only have a security system if someone installed one on a later date. security systems were not factory installed on these vehicles. it sounds like you have another problem to me. have you checked the starter, the alternator, the rotor and cap, the spark plugs and the wires? are you getting fuel? did you check the air filter to see if it is full of junk?
