Q: I have an Infiniti G35 coupe 04 model, 6spd manual, I just bought this car from a dealer used with 56,000 miles on it. recently, i have had a transmission problem due to the bearing, and it is currently still in the shop being fixed. Today, they called me about a new problem. They told me my flywheel has gotten "blue". They told me they will clean it up, but wants me to buy a new one for $1300.00 While they installed a new transmission, they put in a new clutch. Im only trying to ride this car for a year. Do I need to get a new flywheel? or will it be okay if they just cleaned it? How important is the flywheel? Ive already put in about $1000.00 in 2 weeks.
A: Man, they are really trying to rip you off. 1st you buy a defective car and now the shop is trying to rape you. A flywheel is very important, but the price they quoted you is a rip-off. Here's a link for you http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=ASCFLY01&c=PE&year=2004&make=INFINITI&model=G35%202DR $426 for a lightweight performance flywheel, this will improve the throttle response and horsepower of your car. While you've got the tranny apart, you might want to upgrade it http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=STIVALVE01&c=PE&year=2004&make=INFINITI&model=G35%202DR Enjoy!_!
