Q: I just replaced the crank positioning sensor in my 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe and now the crank shaft wont turn. I lined up the top two shafts to the up position before I loosened the timing belt. The crank will only make about a quarter turn in either direction before it stops. What can I do now?
A: You need to re-set the timing via a cam locking tool and a hydraulic tensioner pin. There is a certain procedure for setting the cam gears in time. If not followed, you might end up bending valves. If unsure, a book will help out greatly. Just be careful because bending valves can result in a head job.
