Q: I've been looking for bolt on mods for it on various sites but I've noticed that they sell them for either the d16y8 or the d16z6 motors, and I'm not sure which motor is in mine. How do I know which one I have? I'm driving a 99 Civic automatic model in the USA. Is one just for the manual and one for auto?
A: You have a D16y8!! They are in 96 - 2000 Civic Ex. The D16z6 is in 92 - 95 Civic EX. The D16y8 has like 2 more Horsepower and torque but basically the same thing they just have different intake manifolds. A lot of bolt ons will fit both motors
