Q: i have a replacement which is made up of paper and cant for the life of me work out how to replace it
A: The oil filter housing is made of black plastic with a plastic 27mm nut moulded on the end of it. If your engine is a petrol then the oil filter housing is to the right of the exhaust manifold as you are looking at the engine. If your engine is a diesel then you must remove the air inlet pipe that passes from next to the passengers headlight to the side of the battery tray. Then you can see down to the end of the oil filter housing. If you find something with a plastic 27mm nut then you have got the right part!
