Q: I want to put longtube headers on my camaro but I don't think it will pass inspection if I alter the stock exhaust routing. Should I still put them on with true dual or get shorties with a y pipe? it's a 350 sbc

A: Long tubes are almost always better. If you were wanting to run a"true duel" system you could. The biggest problem is clearence. In order to pass an emission test you would have to have a converter on both pipes. Again, clearence issues. Ultimately your wallet will be the deciding factor. Long tubes are better but A y-pipe and shorties are cheaper. Hope this helps.
