Q: I've started looking to buy an E46 the M3 and I want to know how much I should be paying. I have 2 in mind. One with 45K miles, silver, convertible, in perfect condition with one owner who always maintained it and it has new tires for $24K. The second one has 27K miles, red, convertible, and the price is $27K and I haven't seen it yet, but it's supposed to be in good condition. Do these prices seem right. I'm buying from a private seller. I feel that looking at the ones that actually sell that I'm paying a bit much and there are so many of these available. I found 10 within 30 minutes of my home from private sellers just this weekend.

A: Make sure you have the CAR inspected by a mechanic before you complete the final transaction. As a BMW owner I can tell you that repairs are VERY expensive and you don't want to get slammed with high priced repairs. I would check to see if the Owner can get the BMW service records, (includes repairs and anything the dealership has done on the car) for you to look into what problems this car has had before. I never had to deal with this as I purchased my car Brand New in 2002. But I all the cars you listed above sound pretty good. Good luck!
