Q: I just got a 1 series SE model, my only disappointment is the sound system. I chose the BMW Business radio, which I can understand may be the reason for its lower quality speakers. What can I do to improve the quality? I was considering a sub but I don't want it to turn into a boy racer's car, I just want good quality bass, mid and top without spending too much....... Ideas appreciated on what to get and where. Also, The AUX input under the arm-rest won't work, It's going into BMW next week to get sorted, I just wondered if there was any obvious reason? I only ever get to play with concert sound systems which are a little different from cars.
A: As many before you have noticed, the BMW sound systems are a bit lacking. The easiest thing to start with is just upgrading the speakers. If that's not enough then get a new headunit. Check out this site for speakers that will fit in perfectly. http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/index.php
