How does BMW feel differently when driving between 3 series and 5?

Q: i have a 2002 BMW 325i but im wondering how the 5-series feel when drving? is it pretty close to the 3-series? im talking about the ones from 2004 to now.. not the old ones.

A: I have owned a 1998 328is, and I currently have a 2000 M5. There is quite a difference! The 3 series really feels like a small, compact vehicle, but not too small. It feels like you are in complete control of the vehicle at all times, more of a true driving experiance. The M5 feels like a giant, street legal rocket! It is slightly more comfortable, and the big V8 gives the impression of being slower than the straight 6 found in the 3 series, when driving normally around town. I'm not saying the 5 series feels sluggish, but the engines are very different, and the m5 just feels like a "big car". Both are extraordinarily fun to drive, it just comes down to preference. Go test drive a five series, if you already have a BMW, tell them you're considering "upgrading"!
