Q: I tried to search for the answer and on average the results I found say it gets 25 sometimes even 33 MPG. Do you know the exact city/highway gas mileage? Thanks.
A: 30mpg is not impossible with this motor and a 5 speed manual. These motors were the ETA motor found in the 325e and 528E. I heard of people getting in the low 30's on the highway. With this ethanol blend of gas it might not quite get the 33mpg. These motors were not as powerful as the IS motors and had a timing belt. I believe they were rated at 120hp, so they were not speed demons. They were pretty good cars, certainly less complicated than what we have today. You might also consult some BMW forums online. The owners of these cars should know from experience.
