Q: Im a male who just got his license and i want an affordable, older model, sturdy BMW that drives well maybe from the early 90s or so. Is there any specific model i should be looking for? If u could post any links it would be even more helpful

A: I have a 2000 BMW 323i and I can say it is a wonderful and extremely sturdy vehicle. Its a great first car and it is great on handling which is what a BMW is known for, sharp turns hard turns w.e it is, my car takes it all and never has budged or spun out before. My BMW has Traction control also known as (DSC- Dynamic Stability Control) this helps out alot to avoid accidents and or when about to lose control of the vehicle the car notices what is going on and it corrects itself to make sure that you continue in the right path. This car has had one major mechanical problem which i was able to change my self. Now my bmw is not the lightest on miles it has about 137 thousand miles which is extremely high on mileage for a 2000 car. but for the mileage, mechanically, it has been great. Back to what had happened, my engine coolant tank cracked from wear and i would leak engine coolant, once i purchased the tank i went ahead and purchased all the cooling pipes that run from the tank to the vehicle and changed them all. The next thing that happend was my water pump that went and then i was able to change that out for not to much money a little over 100 dollars. Then the usually wear of the engine belts which i have changed twice. thats about it when it comes to any mechanical issues ive had with my car. Otherwise i recommend this car to any one who is looking to purchase an older bmw!!! my friend actually has a 99 323i BMW and while i was explaining to him what had been going on mechanically with mine he explained to me that the same things had happened to his car. I guess its just some things that happen to all 3 series BMW's
