what are some must have features i should get on a mini cooper?

A: too bad you dont want an s, and especially bad that you want an automatic. the minis come with a VVT auto trans and they have nothing but issues. if i were you i'd learn to drive a stick. other than that, if you decide to get nav, remember an updated nav disc will cost you about 200.00 every time you want to update your maps. some of the features i liked on the minis were (on the checkmate mini) you can buy a magnetic checker set and play checkers on the roof, i like the lit sill plates. also a good thing to get would be all-weather mats (heavy duty rubber) and dice for the mirror. happy motoring
