how is m6 able to shift at such high speed 160mph?

Q: i saw a vid on youtube(it real) where a m6 was driving on the autobahn. it was going about 130 when it shifted into 6 gear which i though was extreme and the last gear. then at about 160 it shifted into 7th and was still going faster. how can they desighn cars that can handle that much when normally people are driving cars that cant even shift into 5th gear above 120

A: It's just a different gear ratio... What do you mean a car can't shift into 5th above 120? Do you know how transmissions work? If a car has 5th gear available and is at a high rpm at 120, it's going to shift into 5th gear to lower the RPM. The M6 is a powerful machine, but it's not alone in having a high top speed. Manufacturers have been doing it for decades, and it's really not that hard.
