What does the BMW 100,000 mile service for the E46 consist of?

Q: My car is nearing 100,000 miles and instead of taking it to the dealer I want to take it to my own mechanic but I would like to know what the BMW 100,000 mile service consists of so I would know exactly what service to get

A: At 100K there is really not much you need to do. You should already have had an inspection at 90,000 miles. Here a schedule of services and time lines: http://www.landsharkautomotive.com/service_sched_maint.html If you did not get the plugs changed at 90,000 miles, you should get them replaced now as they are supposed to be 100K plugs. Also, some people believe that you should change the water pump, thermostat, and oxygen sensor at 100K. I never bought into that and will take my chance and replace them only if/when they fail. Have fun Note added: To Andrew: you take a minivan to a mechanic; a BMW should always be taken to a BMW technician whether it's a dealer or an independent, but make sure that they are BMW techs.
