Q: my 2004 bmw convertible 330ci softtop isnt going down when i press the botton. it lights up light orange but nothing happens. whats going on? how do i fix it? i checked the fuses and it was good.
A: Open the rear trunk and see if the soft top compartment divider is at the down position. If it is at the up position, the soft top will not operate. If it is in the up position but still does not operate, then bring it to a BMW dealer for there is nothing in there that you can diagnose or fix. The CVM system is a complex one, diagnosis would be with a GT1, and tracing system shorts or opens would require a trained BMW mechanic using the appropriate wiring diagrams.
