I need help with the bluetooth for my 2008 mini convertable?

Q: Ok i have no idea on how to work the bluetooth on my new mini. It has a button on the steering wheel and i push that and go to my bluetooth menu on my juke phone that im trying to do it with. The phone says that nothing is detected. I looked in the manual and it doesnt say anything about how to hook them up together. I would really like specific answers if possible, thanks to everyone who helps.

A: You have to go the the set up menu on your phone first. Look for the bluetooth connection feature. It may just say connection. Once you find it. look for headings that say either Set-up or Hands Free device. You need to be in the car with the car running. The select the option that says look for devices. The phone will then start seeking. When it finds the conection in your car, the phone will tell you it found 1 device and ask you if you want to pair with it. It will give you the number of the device it found, ususally the last 7 digits of your car's VIN. Select yes. It will then ask you for a pass key. This can be anything you want. To make it easy, just selct the number 1. The menu in your car will tell you that it found a device and ask if you want to pair with it. Select yes. It will then ask you for a pass key also. Enter the same number you did on your phone. If you took my example you would enter 1. At this point you;re done! If you still have a problem - the folks at MINI USA can help you. Call their tele at 1-866-ask-mini and they can help you pair it if you have an issue. Also, not all phone are completely compatible. Some may work sometimes but not all. Some may not upload your address book. Phones which have been tested and completely approved by mini can be found at www.wireless4mini.com. Good luck with that sweet car.
