Q: I realize that the 1.8t's need premium fuel due to the turbo, but do the 2.8's? And I'm not asking whether or not the car can handle it, I'm asking what the manufacturer's specs say.
A: Audi wants you to use 91 octane for the 2.8L because of the higher compression. They dont have 91 around me so I have been able to get away with 89 thus far. I do notice that the car drives better when Im able to get at least 91. There should be a sticker on the door for the gas tank. It will have minimum fuel requirements on it along with tire pressures for different car loads.
