Q: the car runs brilliantly, but when i stop it smells quite hot and a after a minute or so, a little smoke is released from the right hand side of the engine "standing at the front looking at the engine" it smells of burning rubber and only smokes for about 30 seconds then it is ok.. wierd or what!!! any of you clever people know what it is? also i don't know any technical specifications.. what's the bhp of a 2.4L sport?
A: when something smells it means that something is burning...there should not be any smoke coming out of the engine either..in all likeliness some plastic or rubber part is touching or in contact with a hot surface around the engine or exhaust....probably not a major problem but better to eliminate it if you can...look around the trouble area you suspect and see if you can spot any visible problem...check your fluid levels and look for leaks also... ...1998 Audi A4 2.4 liter V6 engine produces around 165 bhp I have the 1.8L and i always wish i had some extra power...
