Q: hi do all audi dealers know about this free oil update and what do i do if they deny all knowledge? any help is welcomed this is a A6 1.8T engine and as far as i know my service garage has been putting 10W40 semi-synthetic oil in it . now done 102k miles trouble free up until now, but waiting to here from audi dealer to see if they will do this so-called update for free. just been told there is no recall or update for free, so not very happy at the moment, any ideas ?
A: I own a 2000 A4 1.8T (A6 came with V6 - 2.8 if I'm not mistaken). What oil update? Do you mean that the cars (with turbo engines) now require synthetic oil (instead of the regular oil)? what difference does it make if they know it or not - as long as you know it? But I think they all know it. Good Luck...
