Q: There is a 1998 Audi A4 that I'm looking at buying. They are asking $5486. It has a 2.8L V6, Quattro, and 121,000 miles. Is this a good buy? Should I bargain for a low price? Are there too many miles on the car? One last question, What do people think of them? If you are going to suggest a different car don't tell me what it is. Also if you have owned one, give me your feed back on the car. Finally, its a dealer owned car.

A: Kind of high millage, check out kbb.com and nada.com for correct retail pricing. That version of the a4 was fairly good in quality terms. But you may want go for one with much less millage. Or become friends with a good mechanic.. Audi is not know for their reliability... Just superb handling and ride. The A4 and the Passat share the same chassis and engine. Not the Jetta. And yes, some years in that model had electrical problems.
