Q: i have a 1997 audi a4 and i lost my keys, i cant find them anywhere and i have no spare, i didnt buy the vehicle from a dealer also!! how do i go about getting new keys for the car???
A: A locksmith can't help you. Those keys are laser cut and you have to get them from the factory. Go to the parts department at your Audi dealer with the V.I.N. ( the 17 numbers at the lower left of your windshield) and they will order them for you. They will have to program the codes for you so the keys will communicate with your car. Be sure to get 2 keys so you never have to go through this again. A '97 A4 is a great car!!
