Q: I know the fans work, there is no problem however with the a/c clutch working, there is just no energy getting to the compressor. I believe it might be the clutch relay, but I have no idea where it might be, I have looked under the dash board and found an empty space marked "30" between other relays, could this be it?
A: Most modern car AC systems are computer controlled. It may be that the conditions the computer require for it to turn on the compressor are not there...system could be too low on refrigerant for example. Get a good schematic, check the fuses that go to the compressor clutch, then check the relay. The schematic should show where it is located, as should your owner's manual.
